Common Name: Crypt Schulzei, Cryptocoryne Sp. Schulzei

Cryptocoryne Schulzei is a rare cryptocoryne species that has very limited availability. In the wild, this crypt is found in a specific area in Malaysia and grows along small bodies of water. With a very limited amount of information available about this plant, it is difficult to provide exact guidelines for care and optimal growth. General care for Cryptocoryne should be followed and tweaked as necessary while observing the plant's behavior and growth pattern. Colors can vary from green to brown and some sources say younger leaves may appear mottled.

Like other Crypts, Cryptocoryne Schulzei may experience melt in beginning stages, so it is recommended to allow the plant to establish before moving or attempting propagation.

  • Remove tissue culture gel before planting. Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off, gently.
  • Cryptocoryne do not prefer to be moved once planted. If possible, do not uproot them once planted and established!
  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt of the aquarium plant.
